OLD FASHIONED CORN BREAD 
2 c. cornmeal, sifted
1 tbsp. salt
3/4 c. water
3 tbsp. bacon drippings
Cast iron skillet

Sift cornmeal in mixing bowl; add salt and bacon drippings. Add water, a little at a time, until all dry ingredients are wet. Add remaining water until mixture is soft. Spoon pones into greased and heated skillet, turning occasionally until golden brown.
