PECAN STICKS | |
1 c. shortening or 2 sticks of butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg yolk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 c. sifted flour, self-rising 1 egg white 1 c. chopped nuts Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolk, vanilla, cinnamon, and flour. Mix thoroughly. Spread 1/4 inch thick in well greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Beat egg white slightly and brush over top of dough. Cover with thick layer of pecans or add 1 cup pecans to dough and spread additional pecans on top. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut while warm and remove when cool (1 x 2 inch sticks). |
