OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. shortening, butter
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. rolled oats
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. pecans (optional)

Mix fat, sugar and eggs. Stir in vanilla. Mix in baking soda, salt and flour. Mix in oats and raisins. Drop dough by spoonfuls on baking pan.

Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.
