CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1 c. soft shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. cornflakes, crushed
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. raisins
1 c. coconut
1 c. red candied cherries
1 c. green candied cherries

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Sift in dry ingredients. Add oatmeal, cornflakes, pecans, raisins, coconut and candied cherries. Work with hands until well mixed. Form into small balls and press slightly on cookie sheet.

Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes 100 medium-sized cookies.
