CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
1 onion, med., chopped
3 tbsp. butter
1 lb. ground beef, lean
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. allspice
6 c. cabbage, coarsely chopped
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup

(You may use half ground beef and half sausage, or all sausage.

Saute onion in butter, set aside. Brown ground beef (or sausage). Drain well. Combine meat, onion, and spices. Spread 3 cups cabbage into a 2 quart baking dish. Cover with meat mixture. Top with remaining cabbage. Pour soup over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Stir to mix before serving.
