NEVER FAIL COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and add sugar slowly. Add milk and well-beaten egg. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together and add this slowly to the sugar mixture working it in to make a soft dough.

This dough is hard to handle so it is best to chill it for 1/2 hour or more. Roll and cut. Bake on a greased cookie sheet 350 degrees until golden brown. Makes about 4 dozen.
