JUDY'S POWDERED SUGAR FONDANT
5 tbsp. butter
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tsp. spearmint or peppermint
Desired food colors
2 tbsp. cold water

Melt butter and add food coloring and extract. Stir in powdered sugar and water; knead in pan or dish. Roll out in balls in hand and press with fork or meat tenderizer. Place on waxed paper or cake rack for several hours to dry. These are very tasty and should be rolled out quite small, like a party mint.

 Lucy says:
Can this recipe be used for creams for chocolates? Buying dry fondants is pretty expensive and would like to know if you recommend this?

These are very very good. And in answer to Lucy's question whether these creams can be used for chocolate, I would say yes, but I would make sure they are completely dried out first.
