GLAZED DESSERT NUTS 
3 c. walnuts or pecans
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Place nuts on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Combine rest of the ingredients, heat stirring only until sugar is dissolved. Boil without stirring to soft ball stage (236 degrees). Remove from heat. Beat 1 minute by hand. Add the warm nuts; stir carefully until nuts are coated. Pour out onto a buttered cookie sheet and quickly separate nuts with 2 forks. Yields 4 cups. Keep in covered container it may be frozen.
