APPLE SAUCE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. thick apple sauce
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. cake flour
1 c. chopped raisins
1/2 c. nut meats
2 level tsp. baking soda
Dissolved in a little hot water
Pinch salt
1 tsp. cinnamon & other spices to taste

Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan at 325 degrees about 40 minutes.

PENUCHE FROSTING:

1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
