2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. melted butter
1 lb. can apple sauce

Sift together dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until well blended. Pour into greased and floured 9x9x2 or 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 x 2 pan.

Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 45-50 minutes. Cool. Spread with confectioners sugar butter icing. Sprinkle with shredded orange rind. Decorate with whole walnut meats.
