LAYERED BEAN DIP | |
2 (16 oz.) cans refried beans 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 envelope taco seasoning mix 3/4 c. water 1 1/2 c. shredded lettuce 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese 1 (16 oz.) jar thick and chunky salsa or picante sauce tortilla chips Suggested Toppings: jalapeno peppers sour cream ripe olive slices guacamole Prepare the ground beef with the taco seasoning mix according to the directions and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Spread beans on the bottom of the serving dish (a baking dish works well, if this dish is to be carried to someone else's home). Spread meat mixture over the beans and arrange layers of lettuce, salsa and cheese on top of the meat layer. Garnish with toppings of your choice. Serve with tortilla chips for dipping. |
