PUMPKIN DATE BREAD 
1 c. dates, chopped
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. canned pumpkin
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
2 tbsp. orange rind, grated
1/2 c. orange juice
3 c. packaged biscuit mix

In a large mixing bowl stir together dates, sugar, eggs, pumpkin, salt, spice, orange rind and orange juice. Add biscuit mix, beat briskly 30 seconds, turn into well greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool before slicing. If desired, drizzle a glaze of confectioners' sugar, orange rind and orange juice over slightly warm loaf.
