FRUIT SQUARES 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 c. + 1 tbsp. flour
1 1/3 c. coconut
1 c. nuts
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (18 oz.) jar strawberry or apricot preserves

Combine all ingredients, except preserves, in bowl and mix together by hand (mixture will be crumbly). Put 2/3 of mixture in 9 x 13 inch pan and press firmly to form crust. Spread preserves over crust (try not to touch edges). Crumble remaining 1/3 over top of preserves. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Loosen edges. Cool and cut. Enjoy!
