HOT MILK SPONGE CAKE 
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. milk
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
4 eggs
2 tsp. flavoring

Heat milk and butter until butter melts; set aside. Beat eggs until light, then add sugar. Beat well. Add flour, blend in well. Add the warm milk and butter; beat well.

Add the flavoring and lastly the baking powder. Bake 350 degrees in 1 (9 inch) layer pan 30 to 35 minutes or sheet pan 40 to 45 minutes.
