GUMDROP BARS 
1 c. general purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 tsp. cold water
1/2 c. shredded gumdrops, assorted flavors, omitting licorice
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar, sifted & packed

Sift, measure, sift with salt and cinnamon. Mix 1/4 cup flour mixture with nuts and gumdrops. Beat eggs until thick, add sugar and water, beat again. Add dry ingredients to egg and sugar mixture. Fold in nuts and gumdrops. Bake in 8" square pan (greased) at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

While warm, spread with Orange Icing: Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind. Add 1 cup powdered sugar. Beat. When smooth, spread on baked gumdrop mixture. Cut into 2" squares.
