Grease 8 x 4 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Cut the meat from 1 cup prunes with kitchen scissors, place in bowl. Add enough hot water to 1/2 cup orange juice to make 1 cup. Pour the hot liquid over the prunes and 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind. Let this stand 10 minutes. Sift together 2 cups sifted flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 3/4 cup sugar. Add 1 tablespoon melted shortening and 2 eggs to soften prunes add the flour mixture and mix. Stir in 1/2 cup nuts. Pour into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
