LAZY BEEF STEW 
1 lb. lean beef cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes
1/2 c. red wine
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef consomme, undiluted
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 med. onion, chopped
1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. flour

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Put meat in casserole with wine, consomme, seasonings and onion. Mix flour with bread crumbs and stir into the meat and liquid. Cover and bake, about 3 hours (or in a crockpot for several hours).

Delicious gravy forms during the cooking of this casserole. Serves 4. (Serve with rice or noodles.)
