MERINGUE FOR CHOCOLATE CUSTARD
PIE
 
2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. sugar

Beat the egg whites with vanilla, cream of tartar until they form soft peaks (whites will whip fluffier if they are room temperature). Gradually add 2 tablespoons sugar, beating until stiff and glossy and all sugar is dissolved. Spread over pie and brown in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
