CHOCOLATE SUNDAE PIE (EA) | |
1 c. evaporated milk, diluted with 1/2 c. water (if plain milk is used, 1 1/2 c.) 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. gelatin 3 tbsp. cold water 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 egg yolks 3 egg whites, beaten stiff 1 c. cream, sweetened & whipped Use double boiler. To the milk and nutmeg add beaten egg yolks, sugar and pinch of salt. Beat until light. Pour hot milk over this mixture and then return to double boiler until the consistency of cream; remove. Add gelatin, which has soaked in 3 tablespoons of cold water and vanilla; cool. Beat with egg beater and fold in egg whites, beaten stiff. Fill baked pie shell and when set, pile on whipped cream and grated Bakers Chocolate over the top. |
