JOHN'S STICKY BUNS
1 (1 lb.) loaf frozen bread dough from the grocery store

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

FILLING:

3 tbsp. soft butter
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Thaw dough according to package directions. To make topping, mix sugar, butter and water in a small saucepan over moderate heat. Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes, stirring frequently; reduce heat slightly if syrup boils up too high. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle nuts evenly over syrup.

Roll dough out to a 9 x 14 inch rectangle. Spread butter over dough. Mix cinnamon with the sugar and sprinkle over the buttered dough. Sprinkle with nuts. Starting from 1 long side roll dough like a jelly roll. Cut into 12 slices and arrange evenly over topping. Cover with a damp tea towel and let rise in warm place 40-60 minutes or until doubles in volume. Bake 30 minutes until brown. Let stand 5 minutes. Invert onto a platter and serve warm.
