CHEWY OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. uncooked oats
1/2 c. flaked coconuts
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream Crisco and sugar in bowl. Add eggs; beating well. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Mix just until smooth. Stir in oats, coconuts and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
