MUSHROOM STEAKS 
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. beef-top loin steaks
1 tbsp. butter

SAUCE:

1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. half & half
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. grated onion
Salt, pepper (to taste)
Red or green peppers to garnish

In a heavy saucepan, saute the mushrooms in butter until they start getting lightly brown. Add onions, saute them until onions are transparent. Sprinkle with flour and add half and half, stirring to blend well. Simmer until thick and creamy. Add soy sauce, grated onion, salt and pepper.

In another skillet, brown butter. Add steaks and brown on both sides. Cover. Let steaks simmer for a couple of minutes in their own juices. Add mushroom sauce. Let everything simmer until tender to your liking. Garnish with pepper strips.
