Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

2/3 c. shortening (Crisco)
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, orange juice, orange rind. In large bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Add slowly to shortening mixture. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. Cool. Frost.

FROSTING:

2 c. confectionery sugar
2 tbsp. butter and butter
1 tbsp. orange rind
2 to 3 tbsp. orange juice

Makes 2 dozen. I double the recipe as these really go fast.
