12 packaged cream filled chocolate cookies, crushed
1 (8 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) pitted dates, cut up
3/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. miniature marshmallows
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1 c. cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Reserve 1/4 cup cookie crumbs. Spread remainder in a 10x6x1/2-inch baking pan. In a saucepan combine dates, water and salt. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Cool to room temperature. Stir in chopped nuts.

Spread date mixture over crumbs in dish. Combine cream and vanilla; whip. Swirl over dates. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs; top with walnut halves. Chill overnight. Cut in squares. Serves 8.
