SOUR CREAM COOKIES 
1 c. butter (or 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. lard)
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sour cream (farm cream)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. flour

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and mix. Dissolve soda in sour cream, and add to the first mixture.

Mix dry ingredients, and add to the above.

Roll out on floured board. Cut with cookie cutter. Dust with sugar.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400 degrees. These have to be watched closely. Use colored sugar to decorate. This makes a large batch.
