TILLIE'S WHITE FUDGE | |
4 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. heavy cream 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. light corn syrup 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 - 2 c. chopped walnuts Combine sugar, cream, milk, corn syrup and salt in a large deep pan (about 6 to 8 quarts). Mix well. Bring to boil on medium heat. Place thermometer in mixture and cook to 236 degrees (soft ball stage). Remove from heat and cool to 110 degrees (lukewarm), without stirring. Beat in vanilla until mixture loses its gloss. Add nuts. Pour mixture onto a board or pan lined with foil. Cool more, cut into squares. Optional: Melt 1 (6 oz.) package of semi-sweet chocolate bits and spread on top. Add more nuts to decorate tops. |
