CHERRY TORTE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp. salad oil
1 can drained sour cherries

Mix dry ingredients. Add cherries, egg, and salad oil; mix well until sugar is melted. Bake in 8-inch square pan at 350 degrees, 30-40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
