NANA'S WHIRL O'WAYS 
1 c. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. quick rolled oats, uncooked

Cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar and mix thoroughly. Add last 3 ingredients; dough will be stiff.

Shape into rolls 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Coat each roll of dough with colored sugar or chocolate shot. Do all this on waxed paper and then roll up in paper and refrigerate. Slice 3/8 inch thick and bake in slow oven (300-325 degrees) for 17-20 minutes. (Light on top, tan underneath.)
