CREAMY NUT ICING 
1/2 c. shortening (part butter)
2 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Melt shortening in saucepan. Remove from heat. Blend in flour and salt. Stir in milk slowly. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Stir in brown sugar. Remove from heat. Stir in sifted powdered sugar. Set pan in cold water. Beat until consistency to spread. Stir in vanilla and chopped nuts.
