1 can Eagle Brand milk
2 (6 oz.) pkgs. strawberry Jello
1 c. flaked coconut (reserve 1 1/2 tbsp. for stems)
2 sm. pkgs. red sugar crystals

Mix first 3 ingredients together, chill in refrigerator for 40 minutes. Put 4 drops green food coloring in a little water, 1 or 2 drops red food coloring to prevent coloring from being too dark green. Soak 1 1/2 tablespoons coconut in this then spread on a paper towel to dry. Add enough powdered sugar in green water to make a paste. When first mixture is stiff, pinch off small amount and roll between palms, shape as strawberries, roll lightly in red sugar glaze. Lay on wax paper then stick stems on large end. Makes about 5 dozen and will keep indefinitely.

McDonald uses 1 package strawberry flavor and 1 package wild strawberry flavor to give candy a more tart taste.
