SUGARED WALNUTS | |
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. honey 1/2 c. water 2 c. walnut kernels, half 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract Combine sugar, honey, and water in a saucepan and cook to 242 degrees or until a little of the mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into cold water. Remove from heat. Add walnut halved and vanilla and stir until syrup has become creamy and thick. Turn onto waxed paper and with forks spread into individual pieces. You can divide the syrup into 2-3 bowls and color it with vegetable coloring. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. |
