GRANDMOTHER'S POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. sugar 6 eggs 2 tsp. pure vanilla 1 tsp. pure lemon flavoring 3 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk Cream butter and Crisco, add sugar and beat until creamy. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Add flavoring and dry ingredients which have been sifted together alternately with milk. Beat well and pour into tube or bundt pan which has been greased and floured. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. (I use Land-of-Lake butter.) |
