GRANDMOTHER'S POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. flavoring (vanilla or almond)
5 eggs
2 c. flour

Work butter until creamy; beat in sugar and eggs, one at a time. When creamy, fold in flour. Spread in buttered loaf pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
