GRAMMA MARTHA'S ALMOND CRESCENTS | |
1 lb. butter, room temperature 3/4 c. sugar 4 c. flour, sifted 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. walnuts, chopped fine Powdered sugar Cream butter first on low speed. Add sugar 3 different times and cream it on low speed, then mix on medium speed. Add 4 cups of flour, about 1/2 cup at a time on low speed, then mix on medium speed. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Chop 2 cups of walnuts fine. Then add into bowl, 2 times. Mix well. Put in refrigerator until chilled (overnight is ideal). Roll them out in a ball on waxed paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 15 to 20 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. After putting cookies in oven, sift powdered sugar in deep bowl. Roll cookies in powdered sugar 3 times while hot. |
