QUEEN'S PUDDING 
1 c. bread crumbs
2 c. scalded milk
1 tbsp. melted butter
3 eggs
6 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Tart jelly or jam

Let crumbs soak in milk while beating egg yolks to which add sugar, add butter and salt to milk and crumbs then add egg yolks and sugar. Bake in buttered pudding dish (set in pan of water) in slow oven (350 degrees) for 1 hour or until firm. Dot with jelly.

Beat whites stiff adding one at a time, 5 tablespoons sugar. Arrange on top of pudding, return to oven which should cool to 300 degrees, bake until brown. Let pudding remain in pan of water while browning meringue.
