MERRY MINCEMEAT COOKIES | |
1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg, well beaten 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 (9 oz.) pkg. condensed mincemeat 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Cream shortening, butter, and sugar until fluffy; add egg and vanilla, beating well. Break mincemeat into small pieces; stir into creamed mixture. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to mixture. Chill then shape into walnut sized balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Press flat with a glass. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes. Yield 6 1/2 dozen. |
