BROWN BUTTERMILK RAISIN CAKE 
4 c. flour
3 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 sticks butter, softened
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 to 2 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Grease and flour 13x9 pan. Sift together first four ingredients in large bowl. Add the softened butter and mix. Set aside 1 cup of the crumbs for topping. Add the beaten eggs to the remaining dry ingredients. Add the vanilla.

Make buttermilk by adding the vinegar or lemon juice to the milk. Let stand 5 minutes. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk and add to above mixture; stir together until well combined. Add raisins.

Pour into pan; sprinkle top with crumbs.

Bake at 350°F about 50 minutes.
