APPLE BROWN BETTY 
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. rolled oats
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. soft butter
4 c. sliced apples
1/4 c. water

Blend sugar, oats, flour, spices and butter. Mix until it is a crumbly mixture. Place apples in bottom of 11 x 7 inch pan. Cover with crumb mixture. Repeat with another layer of apples and crumb mix. Pour water over all. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Test apples for softness.

I am making this recipe right now. It's in the oven now and it's smelling delicious!!!! Thanks to ever posted it. I don't have vanilla ice cream, I have vanilla caramel, which I think might be awesome as well.
