SOUR CREAM COFFEECAKE 
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

1/3 c. chopped nuts
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Sift flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda together. Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the egg and vanilla. To these ingredients alternately stir in the flour mixture and the sour cream.

Spread 1/2 the batter over a greased and floured 8 x 8 inch square pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 the topping. Repeat with remaining batter and topping. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven on middle rack for 30 minutes.
