1 devil's food cake mix 5 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. Crisco 1/2 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/4 c. milk 3 pkgs. chocolate bake 1 egg 1 stick butter, melted 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. confectioner's sugar 2 1/2 tbsp. hot water Prepare cake according to package directions. Spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake as directed. Cool. FILLING: Cook flour and milk until thick. Cool completely. Beat 1/2 cup Crisco, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla with the flour mixture for 5 to 10 minutes. Spread on cake and refrigerate for 1 hour. ICING: Beat the following ingredients until smooth: 1 egg 1 stick butter, melted 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. confectioner's sugar 2 1/2 tbsp. hot water Spread over filling and refrigerate again. |
