AUNT ANN'S SUNDAE COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 tbsp. milk
1/4 c. cherry juice
1/4 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Marshmallows, cut in half
Chocolate Icing (see below)

Cream brown sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla until well blended. Add melted unsweetened chocolate and mix well. Add dry ingredients with milk, cherry juice, cherries, nuts and mix until well blended. Drop by teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Top baked cookie with 1/2 of a large marshmallow and ice with chocolate icing (see below).

SOUR CREAM VELVET FROSTING:

1 c. chocolate bits
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Melt chocolate bits with butter, then add sour cream and vanilla. Add powdered sugar and beat well. Ice Sundae Cookies with this icing.
