DOM DELUISE'S SISTER ANN'S
COOKIES
 
3/4 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. fresh orange juice
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
Confectioner's sugar glaze

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly; add eggs, vanilla and orange juice. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture. Knead dough on lightly floured board about 5 minutes. Using tablespoonfuls of dough, roll to 6-inch lengths; press ends together to from rings. Let stand on ungreased cookie sheets at room temperature 15 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees, 15 to 17 minutes, or until lightly golden.

ICING:

For icing, combine 2 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar with enough orange juice to make a thin glaze. Dip each hot cookie into glaze; cool on racks. Decorate with confetti sprinkles if desired.
