HOT GERMAN GREEN BEANS 
16 oz. can green beans, drained, reserving 1/2 c. liquid
3 slices bacon, cut in pieces
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and add onions, frying until tender. Add remaining ingredients and heat slowly until hot. Crumble bacon and return to beans just before serving.
