GERMAN GREEN BEANS AND CABBAGE | |
3 slices bacon 1/2 c. vinegar 1/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp. chopped onion 3 c. shredded cabbage 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 can (16 oz.) green beans Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces and cook in skillet until crisp. Remove bacon. Add vinegar, sugar, onion, cabbage, salt and pepper to fat in skillet. Cover; simmer 5 minutes. Stir in drained beans and cook 5 minutes more. Pour into serving dish and top with crisp bacon bits. 6 servings. |
