THE SUPER SMACKER
20 marshmallows
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 c. crisp rice cereal
Additional butter

EQUIPMENT:

Measuring cups and spoons
2 qt. batter bowl or 2 qt. microwave-safe bowl
Wooden spoon
2 (12 x 12 inch) squares waxed paper
2 (12 x 12 inch) squares aluminum foil

Combine marshmallows, butter, and chocolate chips in a batter bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. The marshmallows will puff up; stir the mixture down with a wooden spoon. Microwave on high for another 20 to 30 seconds until marshmallows and chocolate chips are completely melted.

Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Add the cereal; stir with a wooden spoon until completely coated. Pour half the cereal mixture onto a square of waxed paper. Lightly butter hands; shape the mixture into a large candy-cone shape, rounded at the base and pointed at the top. Shape the remaining mixture the same way. Let the smackers dry until no longer sticky, about 20 or 30 minutes. Wrap each smacker in foil, twisting at the top to resemble candy kisses.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
