LACE COOKIES 
1 lb. brown sugar
3/8 lb. (1 1/2 stick) butter, softened
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal (all kinds but instant)

Mix well all ingredients. Grease sheets of foil the same size as cookie sheets. (I alternate 3 sheets.) Place greased foil on sheet. Drop batter by rounded teaspoons, 2 inches apart. Bake until bubbly or a little more, about 5-7 minutes. Slide cookies and foil onto counter. Remove with spatula when cool. Makes 6-8 dozen.
