FLOUR TORTILLAS 
1/3 c. shortening
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. water

Cut shortening into flour and salt thoroughly. Add water; stir with fork until dough almost cleans side of bowl. (Add 1-2 teaspoons water if necessary.)

Turn dough onto LIGHTLY floured board. Knead until smooth. Divide into 12-16 equal parts. Shape each into ball; roll into circle, cover with damp towel to prevent drying. Cook on ungreased hot griddle or in ungreased hot skillet until golden brown, turning once, 1-2 minutes.
