HOT MILK SPONGE CAKE 
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk (boiling hot)
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder

Grease and flour 2 9-inch layer pans or 13 x 9 inch oblong pan.

Beat eggs until very light. Add sugar, salt and hot milk, vanilla in which the butter has been melted. Sift flour and baking powder together and beat into mixture very quickly. Immediately pour into prepared pans and bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

NOTE: This makes a large cake. If a smaller cake is desired, cut recipe in half and use 9 inch square pan.
