FRUIT CHILI SAUCE | |
20 lg. ripe tomatoes 6 peaches 6 pears 6 apples 1 head of celery 3 red peppers 3 lg. green peppers 6 med. onions 4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. pickling salt 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. mace 2 tsp. cloves 1 qt. vinegar Chop fine tomatoes, peaches, pears, apples, celery, both peppers and onions. Mix sugar, spices and vinegar together; mix with fruit and vegetables. Bring to boil in large pot stirring often. Then simmer for 3-3 1/2 hours until thick. Makes a big batch. Can while hot, keeps well in refrigerator after opening. Super on pot roast and hamburgers. |
