SAUERKRAUT CASSEROLE 
1 lb. mild Italian sausage, cut into 1-inch links
1 large onion, chopped
2 apples, peeled and quartered
1 can sauerkraut, undrained
1 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. caraway seeds

In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender, drain. Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, brown sugar and caraway seeds. Transfer to a 2 1/2-quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 350°F for one hour. Garnish with parsley, if desired.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
